Who am I?
My name is Perry Mellone, and I’m a video producer, cinematographer, and editor originally from Dallas, Texas, now based in Las Vegas. I graduated from the University of Hawaiʻi at Mānoa with a degree in Creative Media.
I began creating videos and photography in 2015, initially as a hobby before realizing that visual storytelling was something I wanted to pursue professionally. Since then, my work has taken me from freelance productions to documentary filmmaking and professional sports.
Today, I work in professional boxing with Top Rank Boxing, producing, shooting, and editing content ranging from athlete features and behind-the-scenes stories to live-event coverage and fast-turnaround social content. My sports production experience also includes contributing to Pacific Roots, a documentary produced in collaboration with NFL Films, where I captured game-day footage and helped tell stories surrounding athletes both on and off the field.
What I enjoy most about filmmaking is finding the story within a moment—whether that’s the intensity of a live sporting event, the personality of an athlete, or the smaller moments happening behind the scenes. My goal is to create work that feels intentional, cinematic, and gives audiences a reason to connect with the people and stories on screen.
Long term, I want to continue growing as a filmmaker and storyteller across sports and entertainment, with the ultimate goal of directing feature films—and one day, winning an Academy Award for directing.
